LE CHALLENGE - MARITIME

Wearing: vintage striped tee, CP Shades black silk skirt (similar here), Bensimon black leather skinny belt (similar here), Freed of London black patent leather ballerina flats (similar here), Pierre Hardy black patent leather and canvas bag (similar here via Vestiaire Collective)

I have always had a huge admiration for people who are able to sew clothes, make accessories and create things from scratch. Given my passion for costume jewelry, several people asked me why don't I try my hand at some necklaces' DIY, but so far I preferred the easy way, i.e. buying them and wearing them.

When my talented friend Nathalie from Made in Home told me about Le Challenge - a challenge open to all crafters with a different theme every month - I was very intrigued and I'm delighted to join the current 'Maritime' round. As styling (myself...) is my creative thing I decided to create an outfit post around one of my favourite pieces: the striped top.

When I think 'maritime', stripes always come to my mind and this tee is very special to me as it is another vintage piece stolen from my dad. I think striped tops are such a classic staple that goes beyond seasons, fashion trends and proximity to the sea! Voilà my contribution and I hope to see some of you among the participants of the next Le Challenge!

SUMMER IS COMING

Wearing: Marni for H&M polka dot jacket and necklace, Petit Bateau white cotton tee (similar here) vintage Fruit of the Loom jeans (similar here),  Paola van der Hulst (sapphire) sterling silver ba(sic) necklace, Les Composantes by Morgane Sezalory, Pierre Hardy for GAP flats (similar here)

Pardon my Game of Thrones reference: I meant to talk about my beloved jeans (what is more vintage than my dad's Fruit of the Loom from the 70s?!), but then I watched The Rains of Castamere episode. I'm still shocked and I wanted to pay my tribute to the House of Stark with this post, even if I have been unable to accessorise my vintage denim with an armour and a couple of wolves. Spoiler alert: the Northerners - and myself - will never forget.

A PRESENT FROM BOTICCA

I got a wonderful birthday present from a dear friend of mine (grazie Fede!) who knows how much I like Boticca, so she took inspiration from a wish list post I wrote some time ago about this unique jewelry and accessories online boutique. The MANOLO's Little Bird Out of the Cage earrings found their way to my costume jewelry collection, and it is my turn to give you all a present. The kind Boticca team has created a special code for my blog's readers offering 15% off on any purchases: NJAPD15. You will have until 1 July to enjoy it...happy Boticca shopping!
