Wearing: Altea wool scarf (another beautiful Altea scarf is available here on sale), Uniqlo grey merino wool V neck sweater (similar here), Uniqlo +J camel wool skirt (similar here on sale), Church's black leather Martina riding boots (similar here), CÉLINE Cabas in lambskin in army green
I have always loved neck ournements. You all know about my obsession soft spot for necklaces, but everything started when I was young(er) with scarves and carrés. Just like a sparkling piece of costume jewelry, they can be a sophisticated touch on the most basic outfit, they can add a pop of colour to any ensemble, and - as a bonus - they keep you stylishly warm. My love affairs with this accessory has recently been 'revamped' thanks to this wonderful embroidered Altea scarf (one of my favourite Christmas gifts) and to the discovery of the Faliero Sarti's boutique in Forte Dei Marmi (stay tuned for more updates on the scarf front).
Travel tip: these pictures were taken by my dad at La Bellone, a 17th century maison with one of the most spectacular Baroque facades in Brussels. This is is a truly hidden gem as you would never guess that such a beautiful monument is situated where it is, i.e. in a courtyard of another building covered by a glass roof. This is worth a detour if you decide to visit the Belgian capital!

I could tell right away that these photos were taken by your dad :) [No offense to Mr. NJAPD's photography, of course!] My accessory obsession also began with scarves, but the tricky part is that I'm allergic to animal fibres, so it's hard to find pretty ones I can actually wear. I love the floral print on this one from Altea, but since it's wool, I'll have to live vicariously through you wearing it :)

Cee, my dad was super happy when he read your comment! I didn't know that you were allergic...I can imagine it's a mission impossible to find a nice scarf, but maybe you can try with the modal ones?
DeleteLove your scarf - the colours are so beautiful!

ReplyDeleteciso,

Grazie Ave! Sono stata in Nepal qualche anno fa e posso immaginare la tua valigia di ritorno...
DeleteAmazing photos. Say to your dad from me that he knows how to take breath-taking photos! But of course he had a really beautiful model/muse to work with.
ReplyDeleteCaterina I absolutely agree with you on scarves! Like a statement necklace a scarf can totally revamp an outfit. I'm obsessed with scarves as well. This I took from my mom:)
Dear Caterina, I want to ask for your help. For a project which I'm working on I'm doing some research on my blog - in my latest post I'm asking three questions with regards to how people buy jewellery and I mean costume jewellery. You always have some truly amazing pieces, so your answers would be really helpful to me. When you have a free minute, could you please take a look at these questions? And the one who answers automatically enters my give-away - a little bonus;)
Thanks in advance;)
Xx

Colorful scarfs is the best way to break the monotonous sometimes 'un-inspiring' winter colors and this one of yours did the job really well! Great sporting dad you have there!
